IMHA does not have emergency housing.
Applications can be attained Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM -12:00 PM and 1:00 PM-4:30 PM at our main office 720 Washington Street Ironton, OH 45638. If you need assistance with completing the application an appointment will need to be scheduled. To complete the application, we will need Birth Certificates and Social Security Cards for all household members, a valid ID for all adults in the household, and all adults must sign all required documents. If the applicant is a Veteran, a DD214 will be required to receive the Veterans preference. IMHA offers applications online at irontonmha.org. If you complete the application online, you will need to bring your documents into the main office at 720 Washington Street Ironton, OH 45638 during application hours.
The amount of time varies depending on the number of applicants on the waiting list and the availability of housing. Applicants will be placed on the waiting list according to any preference(s) for which they qualify, and the date and time their complete application is received by IMHA.
When applying for our programs you will need to bring social security cards, birth certificates, identification, and current proof of income for all household members. To receive the veteran preference a DD214 is required.
All rent is calculated on a per household basis. All rents are determined by the Housing Authority in accordance with HUD regulations and the Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policy. Residents generally pay 30% of their adjusted monthly income in rent.
